The Nomads that we’ll visit along our Mongolia Nomadic Lifestyle Tours live a simple but pleasant live, especially the summers are nice, time to enjoy the beauty of nature and to be together with children and the extended family at the summer camp – high up in the mountains where they have an abundance of milk products like aruul, dried curd and airik, fermented mares milk, while the animals roam the surroundings and get fat.

Summer is the time for celebrations, the hardship of winter and spring is forgotten, at Naadam, people get together, wrestle one another and compete in horse racing and archery – the perfect time to experience our Mongolia Nomadic Lifestyle Tours. Other celebrations fall in the summer too, weddings usually are held now and religious ceremonies are performed at the Ovoo, piles of stones that are places of sacrifice that mark a significant place, for instance a pass over a ridge or a mountain top.

When we travel from place to place in Mongolia, as the nomads, we pack up our tents, load all on our belongings on our means of transport and leave the place we stayed the night before traceless as we found it the evening, spend the day in nature, friendly greet who ever we meet. Sometimes we stop at a ger along the way, get invited for a cup of tea and a chat, take a few pictures, maybe play a little with the children, might have brought a few small presents.

Like that, days are long and pleasant, evenings in the camp are simple but comfortable, sitting in the afternoon sun, having cookies and drinking tea, some nearby families children come by and bring some milk or yogurt, as containers would never be returned empty – the cook would give them canned fruits or sweets in return. And once night falls, after dinner, the starry sky is the attraction when we randomly take breaks from our sleeping bags.
