OUR Mongolia Ger Camps TOURS

The term ‘ger camp` is used in two ways: Sometimes for referring to the accommodation of nomadic families in Mongolia, at other times to tourist camps in that usually use the Mongolian ger as a means of accommodating travelers – hence Mongolia Ger Camp Tours.

Usually the homes of the nomadic families would not have extra capacity to accommodate such travelers that require a bed or even a ger for themselves. If someone shows up in the evening and wants to stay overnight, the usual dwellers of the ger move closer together to make space for the extra person, sacrificing their own comfort. Along our Mongolia Ger Camp Tours, we want to make our clients live comfortable without discomforting the nomadic families, therefor usually do not arrange accommodation within families, unless there is a special arrangement where a separate ger next to theirs can be rented from the family.

So when referring to ger camp accommodation then that is a kind of resort / local motel that has rows of gers, a building for toilets and showers, a restaurant / reception building and is located along one of the more commonly used roads to or actually at a place of interest. Travelers, local and foreign alike can stay here overnight and leave in the morning to continue their journey.

Nomads offers a variety of Mongolia Ger Camp Tours that are built around those opportunities of accommodation, usually spending about half of the day in a jeep, driving through beautiful landscape, visit sites of interest along the way, monasteries, stone paintings, special view points, nomadic families and then reaching the next camp in the afternoon or evening for meal and resting.
